All-on-4® is a trademarked full-arch treatment concept in which a replacement set of teeth for one jaw is supported by four dental implants. It may be considered for selected patients who have lost, or are expected to lose, most or all teeth in an arch. It is not automatically suitable for every patient.
What the treatment may involve
The process normally begins with a clinical examination, medical and dental history, imaging and prosthetic planning. Depending on the case, treatment may include extractions, implant placement, a provisional bridge, healing and a later definitive bridge. “Teeth in a day” language usually refers to a provisional restoration and should not be interpreted as the end of all treatment.
Why four implants?
The concept uses four implants to support a full-arch restoration. Implant number and position are only part of the plan; bone condition, bite, gum health, implant stability, prosthetic design and the patient’s health all influence the decision. A clinician may recommend a different approach.
Assessment and suitability
A clinic should evaluate bone volume, gum health, remaining teeth, bite, hygiene, smoking, medical conditions and medicines. Patients should receive a clear explanation of alternatives, which can include conventional dentures, implant-retained removable dentures or other fixed implant arrangements.
Risks and maintenance
Full-arch implant treatment involves surgical and restorative risks. These may include infection, swelling, bleeding, altered sensation, implant failure, fracture or wear of the provisional or final restoration, hygiene difficulty and the need for repair or replacement. Long-term professional maintenance is essential.
Medical-travel planning
- Confirm whether the proposed bridge is provisional or definitive.
- Ask how many visits and how many days in Albania are expected.
- Request a written breakdown for extractions, grafting, implants, temporary teeth and the final bridge.
- Confirm who will provide urgent care after you return home.
- Ask for the implant passport, operative notes, scans and restoration specifications.
- Do not book non-refundable travel until the clinic has reviewed appropriate diagnostic information.
How to compare clinics
Compare clinician qualifications, documented experience with full-arch rehabilitation, diagnostic facilities, laboratory arrangements, implant systems, hygiene protocols and aftercare—not only the advertised package price. Any guarantee should state its conditions, exclusions and where follow-up work is performed.
